God’s in it

I talked with a guy I have not heard from in several months tonight. When I last talked with him, he was shy, no check that-he was downright introverted. I used to try to get him to come to Life Church last year. Said he would, but, he never showed up. Mad at God, I think. His wife had cheated on him. Bad scene. They had a little girl..He was devestated…In addition, during her affair, they find out she was expecting again…His child…He had a job where it was important that he know how to relate to people. Different kind of guy. Hard to relate to people when you don’t like to even talk to them…Anyway…this guy calls me out of the blue. He never calls me. Remember? He doesn’t like to talk. But, this time he did. Sounded like a different person. Talkative. Could not shut this guy up. “What is up with you, dude”, I asked him. “You sound like a different person”. His response: “I am”. God got my attention. When our baby was born, he was born with all kinds of problems, including among other things, hydrocephalis. When that kid was born, God totally turned my life upside down, he totally changed me.
I don’t know ’bout you, but I am not a big fan of “bad things”. But, let’s face it, they happen and God has got a purpose for them. The Apostle Dude Paul said…that he and a bunch of his friends were “afflicted beyond their ability to endure”…so much so that they feared for their very lives. (II Cor.1).They thought they were going to die. But, he knew God had a purpose-
“so that we might not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises from the dead”.
Got some junk in your life? Don’t understand it and sho’ don’t like it. God’s in it!
